Granny is uniquely qualified to help you with your computer needs.

"I specialize in helping seniors" is not just a logo on my van...I've been helping seniors with all of their computer needs since 1999!

As a grandmother myself, I really DO understand what you're going through and I NEVER talk down to my clients.

YOU ARE NOT A DUMMY...SOMEONE JUST HAS TO BE ABLE TO TEACH YOU IN TERMS YOU UNDERSTAND AT A PACE YOU CAN KEEP UP WITH!

Need someone to take a look at your machine? I can do that too! I've been teaching and repairing computers since 1999!

Never Fear!

The Senior Moment Computer Club, hosted by yours truly, Char Wood the Computer Granny as a public service meets on the
1st Friday of the month, from 2PM to 4PM at the clubhouse. Looking forward to meeting my new neighbors!

Now in it's eighth year, the Senior Moment's club was started in order to help seniors keep up with the rapidly growing world of technology in terms they understand as well as for them to get answers to those pesky questions that always arise when no one is around to ask!

Come one, come all and bring your friends, a smile, something to write on and a writing implement. I  bring my laptop computer and a projector so you can "see" the answers to your questions right before your own eyes!

You're also very likely to see that others have the same problems you do, so in all likelihood you'll go home feeling very relieved that computers are NOT infallible and often the problem is not you...and there is a simple solution!

The way the club works is...

Before the meeting starts club members bring me their written questions to be answered later in the meeting. You may be amazed at how answering your questions can help the others at the meeting too!

So AS things happen on your computer during the month, or should a question arise, WRITE IT DOWN in as much detail as possible and I'll explain why things happen and maybe even how to resolve the problem without needing an appointment for a tutoring session or repairs!

Then, during the first hour I usually have a topic of interest that is  pertinent to the ever changing computer industry that you should be aware of so that you know how to make intelligent, informed decisions.

Whether it is teaching members how to avoid scams or spam, or something more serious, like the absolutely diabolical things that have been happening since the beginning of 2009 that are costing seniors a lot of money due to their lack of awareness. The information is always up to date, interesting and worthwhile.

We always have a great time with lots of laughter! It's FUN to laugh at computers and have someone explain why they are so stupid!

Then, the second hour after a short break I answer the questions brought to me by members, all of whom are your peers. Is everyone there a newbie? No...some of my members have been with me since the very beginning eight years ago BUT...they are all of our generation and remember exactly what it was like to be a newbie.

Their attitude?...Repetition is the mother of skill! So no matter how many times the same subject may be discussed in meetings, there is always something to learn. Especially when changes in the industry makes it mandatory to change the way WE do things which happens more often than you might think!

So come to the meetings and bring all your friends! The more the merrier.

Granny is in the process of trying to find new locations for Senior Moments Clubs in Ormond Beach, Port Orange and New Smyrna. However, due to popular demand for the meetings preregistration may be required at future meetings.
